Vein Treatments

Varicose veins and thread veins are common issues that I frequently treat in my practice. Varicose veins are enlarged, visible veins that can cause discomfort like aching, itching, and swelling.

In some cases, they may lead to more serious problems like phlebitis (vein inflammation), bleeding, or even leg ulceration. Thread veins, while smaller and more superficial, can also affect the appearance of your legs.

Not all varicose veins need treatment, but for those that cause discomfort or are cosmetically concerning, I offer several treatment options. During our consultation, we’ll discuss which treatment is best for your specific condition, and I’ll make sure you fully understand the benefits and risks of each approach.

Compression Hosiery

Compression stockings are a non-invasive option that can help relieve symptoms such as swelling and discomfort. While they don’t eliminate the veins themselves, they are a useful management tool for milder cases or as a complement to other treatments.

Sclerotherapy (Foam and Liquid)

Sclerotherapy is one of the most effective treatments for both varicose and thread veins. In this procedure, I inject a special foam or liquid solution into the affected veins, causing them to collapse and eventually fade. It’s particularly effective for smaller veins or those causing leg ulceration. However, there are some risks involved, and we will go over these in detail during your consultation.
