Mr Mark Whyman is a distinguished consultant vascular and general surgeon with over 30 years of experience, specialising in the treatment of vein and hernia conditions. Since establishing his private practice in Jersey in 2022, Mr Whyman has brought advanced medical techniques and compassionate care to the residents of the Channel Islands. His practice offers state-of-the-art treatments, including VNUS ClosureFast (RadioFrequency ablation), sclerotherapy, and both open and laparoscopic mesh repairs.
Mr Whyman is available for both public and private practice, providing flexible care options. He performs complex surgeries at Jersey General Hospital, ensuring patients have access to the highest quality public healthcare. For private consultations and minor procedures, Mr Whyman sees patients at the Elite Surgical Centre, located within the Lido Medical Centre. This allows him to cater to a wide range of patient needs, whether through public or private healthcare channels.

Professional Background & Qualifications
Mr Whyman began his medical training at The Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London, graduating in 1984. He went on to complete his surgical training in some of the UK’s leading hospitals, including Bristol Royal Infirmary and Royal Infirmary Edinburgh. In 1996, he was appointed Consultant Vascular and General Surgeon at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he worked for 25 years before relocating to Jersey.
Mr Whyman holds an MS in Surgical Research from the University of London and a Master’s in Medical Law (LLM) from Cardiff University, reflecting his dedication to both medical excellence and patient advocacy. In his current public role, he serves as a consultant surgeon at Jersey General Hospital, where he continues to make a significant impact on patient care.
